Cobar Shire Council have received funding from Resource for Regions round 7 and 8 to create a masterplan and business case to guide all future works at the Cobar Memorial Swimming Pool. Cobar’s Memorial Swimming Pool consists of a 50m, 7 lane pool, hydro program pool, wet splash play area, waterslide and a 1m diving board. The purpose of the masterplan is to include upgrade plans for the infrastructure, kiosk area, toilets / shower facilities, onsite storage, the main entrance, swimming club house and any new infrastructure that will enhance the aquatic centre.
This project seeks to create a masterplan and business case to guide all future works at the pool.

Cobar Shire Council is currently working with Facility Design Group to create a Masterplan and Business Case for the Cobar Memorial Swimming Pool. Community consultation sessions were undertaken in February 2022 in order to support the preparation of the Business Case and Masterplan. We have now received the Design and Validity report and the community have had the chance to provide formal feedback on each concept design. Feedback will be considered by the councillors.
