The Cobar Miners Race Club Committee host an annual race meet usually in May. This years event will be held on Saturday, 6 May 2016. The day usually features a 6 race program and a popular open foot race of 1600m the ‘Peak Golden Mile’. Bookmakers and tab facilities are available on the day along with a children’s activity tent a Rotary barbeque and canteen facilities including the purchase of merchandise such as stubby coolers and caps. They usually hold a best decorated marquee and Fashions in the Field competitions.
